Little Canada Vein Clinic

Having spider or varicose veins can negatively affect your health and self-confidence, but that doesn’t have to be the case. You may feel discouraged if you have bulging veins in your legs, but numerous treatment options can help! Dr. Spartz and associates at Spartz Vein Clinic in the Little Canada area can help you confidently get back on your feet. Our team performs a thorough health assessment, diagnoses issues, and develops a personalized treatment plan to get you looking and feeling your best. Some of the problems we can help with include:

Deep Vein Thrombosis and Superficial Vein Thrombosis

If you have varicose veins, you are at an increased risk of developing DVT or SVT. When a blood clot forms in one of the deep veins of the venous system, you can have deep vein thrombosis. Superficial vein thrombosis is when a blood clot forms in a superficial vein, forming a hot and tender area around the affected vein. When you have DVT, blood clots can break off and travel to the lungs, which makes it hard for the body to receive oxygen.

Venous Ulcers

Some people have open skin sores on their legs, often called venous or leg ulcers. Circulation problems in the veins of the legs cause them. Your body wants to heal itself, and when you have a scrape or a cut, your body rushes to start the healing process. Over a few weeks, the body can completely heal the cut. Some ulcers don’t heal without proper treatment, and if you have open sores, pain in the legs, or sores with unevenly shaped borders, you should have a doctor check them out.

Varicose or Spider Veins

One of the most common leg problems is spider or varicose veins. If you have itching, cramping, pain, heaviness, and pooling in the veins of your legs, you may have venous insufficiency. Spider veins appear as small purple tiny veins near the skin’s surface. Spider veins are generally less problematic than varicose veins. However, if you have either, it’s a good idea to see someone at our office near Little Canada to determine how severe the varicose or spider vein problem is.
