At Spartz Vein Clinic in Maplewood near Minneapolis and St Paul, Dr. Spartz demonstrates her passion for venous health by exclusively treating venous disease in all stages of progression from spider veins to chronic venous insufficiency.
Her considerable knowledge base in the field of phlebology, outstanding training, and pledge of giving back to the community fuels our commitment to providing an exceptional clinic for venous disease treatment.
Margaret Spartz,
MD, MPH, RPVI
Dr Margaret Spartz is uniquely qualified Minneapolis vein doctor, who can care for venous disease at all stages of progression. She has trained with leading experts in the field and used her skills for treating venous disease while on humanitarian medical mission trips to Honduras. She has seen the devastating effects of venous disease on everyday life and the activity limiting impact it can have on her patients. She is known as a compassionate doctor who genuinely listens to her patients. She regularly helps her patients make medically responsible and evidence based choices through shared decision making.
Dr Spartz graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, IN. She went on to medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She completed residency during which she received her Masters of Public Health from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and served as the Chief Resident. She has shown a continued interest in global health and wellness throughout her career. She completed an extended rotation during medical school in Chiang Mai, Thailand in the Community Medicine department. She also conducted research in China for her Masters thesis.

Shannon G.
MSN, APRN, CNP
Shannon did her undergraduate studies for her Bachelors in Nursing at St. Cloud State University and graduated as Summa Cum Laude. She was an honorary member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing Honor’s society. She studied abroad in Santiago, Chile as a nursing student for a summer semester while working in a very impoverished hospital in the Emergency Department. Her nursing background is very diverse and she has a wide range of experiences. After graduation, she started her nursing career in the Transplant Intensive Care Unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she worked for 4 years. She obtained her Critical Care Registered Nurse Certification to become an expert in her field. She then relocated to South Carolina where she worked in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for 4 years while pursuing her graduate studies at Clemson University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. While doing her graduate studies, she taught at Clemson University as an instructor for nursing students and worked at the hospital in the CVICU. She graduated from Clemson University as a Summa Cum Laude and was part of the nursing honors society. She started her NP career in plastic surgery and eventually found her passion for vascular medicine. She is a current member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
She is married and mother to a sweet little boy and a golden doodle. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, doing anything outdoors, and attempting to get fit.

Heather P.
MSN, APRN, CNP
Heather completed her undergraduate degree at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into her nursing school’s chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, an international nursing honors society. Heather also competed on the school’s women’s tennis team during these 4 years. After graduation, she worked on a cardiovascular medical/surgical unit in Sioux Falls for one year. She then moved back to Minnesota and worked in an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic for 5 years. Heather earned her family nurse practitioner degree from Minnesota State University- Mankato. She has been working at Spartz Vein Clinic since becoming a family nurse practitioner.
Heather lives in the western suburbs with her husband, son, and dog. She enjoys spending her free time with family, traveling, and enjoying a hot cup of coffee.

Marisa B.
RVT
Marisa has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UW-Madison and her associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Argosy University. She has worked in the vein industry since 2014 and is truly passionate about her work. Her laughter and positive attitude makes everyone feel welcome and cared for during their appointments. Marisa joined the Spartz Vein Clinic team in 2016 and is considered an expert in her field of venous sonography.
Marisa is married to Dan and they have 3 boys. During her free time, Marisa is in her back yard on the pickle ball court or with her family and their busy hockey schedules.
